My client and I saw this museum as we walked to focus groups in Rosemont, Illinois last night. What’s a “Hummel,” we wondered? We didn’t have time to stop in, so we chose to speculate instead. Perhaps a hummel is a specific kind of vase? Or parts that go in a dishwasher? Or a religious order we’d never heard of before?
We finally Googled it this morning and as it turns out, Hummels are a specific type of figurine. This museum is named for a late Rosemont mayor who collected Hummels and donated his collection to the city. Wikipedia also taught us that Glee’s Kurt Hummel was named for this brand. Who knew?!
